The Gray Kid

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gray Kid, a.k.a. Steve Cooper, is a hip hop, pop, and soul artist based in Los Angeles, California.

His style is highly unique among hip hop artists. Using disco-like "jeep beats," his work is almost instantly recognizable.

He is most notable, along with the artist's collective, People Food, for his music video "PaxilBack."

A parody of Justin Timberlake's SexyBack video, PaxilBack's obsessive-compulsive protagonist favors brand name Paxil over generic drugs and is shown attempting to convince a hedonistic physician to write him a prescription.

Also of note, his self-released album "...5, 6, 7, 8" became available in 2006.

The album features primarily uptempo electronica and omits his acoustic catalog.

An accompanying video to the song "Lonely Love," from ...5, 6, 7, 8, is apparently planned.
