The Grapes of Wrath (opera)

The Grapes of Wrath is an opera based on John Steinbeck’s 1939 novel of the same title. The opera was commissioned by the Minnesota Opera and co-produced with Utah Opera, with music by Ricky Ian Gordon and libretto by Michael Korie. The Minnesota Opera will open its world premiere of the opera on February 10, 2007, at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Utah Opera will open its run of performances on May 12, 2007, at the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah.
