The Grandmaster is a fictional DC Comics character and type of manhunter agent who first appeared in Millennium #1. There are many grandmasters and one Manhunter Highmaster who has been destroyed in Millennium #6. Long ago in the year 1066, the Grandmaster held dominion on Earth by recruiting humans as "sleeper agents" of the Manhunters to alter history in their own fashion. He was a key factor in the illusioton device which acted as an illusion of the destruction of the planet Orinda. Hal Jordan was held falsley responsible when accidentally destroying one of Orinda's moons. The old Grandmaster died at the hands of the Manhunter Mark Shaw and the new Grandmaster is Cyborg Superman after taking the role of organically enhancing the Manhunter technology with his own Kryptonian technology.
