The Grand Central Leisure Park
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Grand Central Leisure Park is an entertainment centre located on Wellington Road South (A6) in Stockport, a south metropolitian area of the city of Manchester.
The Centre which is situated behind the main Railway Station, has the following outlets:
- a 10 screen Cineworld cinema (formally UGC, Virgin Cinemas and MGM)
- food outlets including Pizza Hut, Subway and a McDonalds drive-thru on the outskirks.
- a Brannigan's 'late-licenced leisure' Bar
- the Tasty Fish chip-shop (as in The Other Two song of the same name).
- a 10-pin bowling alley and 'laser quest' arcade
- the main Swimming Pool in the area
There also used to be a Burger King on the site, but closed circa 2003, where only the one which still exists in the area is in Stockport town centre.
Grand Central is best avoided after dark, as it becomes the hang-out for all of the Stockport youth, whom like to intimidate people and commit crime on a regular basis.
