The Good Son is the season 1 finale of That 70s Show.
Even though Eric admits Hyde is like the brother he never had, he gets upset when his parents start giving preferential treatment to their new "son".
[edit] Plot summary
Saturday morning 9:12 AM, the Forman's are eating breakfast with their new "son" Hyde. Hyde tells them how much he appreciates the things they are giving him. When Red asks Eric to do some chores, Hyde volunteers to do them. Eric then exclaims that he loves his new brother. Eric tells him that he's like the brother he never had, since he only has a sister who he hates. A little later Red's old war buddy, Bull, who got five chunks of hot shrapnel right in the knee, comes to visit. He offers Red a job at his new hot tub store that he is going to open in Point Place. Red mentions about his Corvette and says that he wanted one but got two kids instead.
Eric is about to make-out with Donna when Hyde comes down into the basement. Hyde says that he told Kitty he would study because she found out he failed a test. Eric & Donna go to Donna's house and make-out, but are interrupted by Bob & Midge fighting about who is going to wash the dishes.
Hyde is doing Eric's chores when Red tells Eric what a great job he did. After looking at Hyde he mentions that Hyde did it. Red then pays Hyde and Eric asks for money. Red asked him what he did. Eric tells him he loves him. Red says he loves him but doesn't give him money. At dinner, Kitty asks Hyde how he did on his history paper. Hyde tells her he got a C-, which led to appreciation from both Red & Kitty. Eric mentions he got a B and they are disappointed that he didn't get an A. Eric asks why they're disappointed with him, and pleased with Hyde. They tell him that they expect more from him since Hyde's parents haven't been there for him. Eric & Laurie then fight, but after Hyde tells them to stop it, they pick on him. Red tells them all to quit it, and for Eric to be more like Hyde. After dinner Laurie reminds Eric that even though she's now number 2 he is now number 3.
Red, Kitty, Bob, & Midge go to a party that night that Bull is hosting. Red & Bob are asked to put their keys in a fishbowl. Red tells Bull he'll take the job. Joy, Bull's wife, tells Kitty to pick a key and she finds out it's a wife swapping party. She tells Red, who gets upset, telling Bull that he thought he knew him. They all leave, but Bob tries unsuccessfully to stay before Red pulls him out.
Back at the house, Hyde is doing the dishes. Eric tells him that he should, "stop kissing his parents' asses cause it's making him look bad". He orders him to do something stupid and senseless. Hyde refuses, telling him that he appreciates it here and is a guest. Eric says that he will do something stupid. As if on cue Kelso suggests they drop a bowling ball on the couch. Downstairs Donna is complaining to Jackie about her parents fighting and fears a divorce might happen. They go up to see Eric standing on a ledge about to drop the bowling ball. He drops it, and it bounces right into the TV. Everyone scatters except Eric & Hyde. Red comes home and asks about it, assuming that Eric did it. Hyde then tries to take the fall for Eric. Eric tells him he did it, but Red tells them he doesn't care who did it but they are both going to work and buy him a new TV, and sends them off. Red tells Kitty he's really pissed because instead of having a Corvette, like Bull, who is a "freak-n-pervert" and gets everything he wants, he works hard, raises a family and what he gets is a bowling ball in his TV. Later Eric & Hyde are looking at an ad. Red lets them know that his new TV needs to be bigger and better then his old TV over the credits.
