[edit] Trivia

Film insiders have revealed Blanchett shaved her hairline to recreate the dramatic look from her Oscar-nominated performance in Elizabeth. As well as this Blanchett bleached her eyebrows and eyelashes - and caked on layers of white make-up to lighten her naturally pale complexion.[citation needed]

After the death of Queen Elizabeth I Sir Walter Raleigh was arrested by King James I's men on 17th July 1603 at The Exeter Inn, Ashburton, Devon, from where he was taken to the Tower of London. The pub retains its 17th century features.
