[edit] Band history
The Glue's first public appearances took place at private events, such as birthdays or weddings. In 1998 they won the second place in a Basel newcomers contest called "Strampoln", which made it possible to record a first demo CD called "Laora L [ist] tot", featuring cover versions of known pop songs.
The band's regional breakthrough happened in 2001, when they participated in the successful charivari musical "Stärnestaub"; The Glue's first album mundwerk was released in summer 2001, featuring own compositions and cover versions as well.
In 2002, when The Glue had performed their mundwerk program on stage about 100 times, the second commercial release, the single Shy, headed the stores and a new stage program called maulwurf was introduced to perform on stage. With the maulwurf program, the band seemed to become more professional, and they attempted to record a live performance of their maulwurf program. The result was the release of the live album maulwurf live in 2003.
In 2004 The Glue became nationally well-known and also gained some success in Germany due to appearances at open-air festivals. In April 2005, the band performed the maulwurf program for the last time; the concert was filmed and a live DVD was later released. In October 2005 The Glue released its second studio album called BOCA JUNIORS; the BOCA JUNIORS program had its stage premiere in January 2006.
