The Gay Barbarians
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Gay Barbarians and/or the Jaurwars are a progressive industrial band from San Francisco. They were formed by San Fran. natives Gary Smith (who primarily plays synthsizers and bass), Anthony Petrovic (who normally plays guitar and synthesizers), and Chris Van Huffel (who plays drums). They were all in contact with Mason Jones, a member of the band SubArachnoid space and the owner of Charnel Music. The trio was soon signed to the label's sub-division, Circular Reasoning. The trio released their album Bohemian Special in 1998. Around this time, Chris joined up with SubArachnoid Space. The Barbarians released their sophomore effort, I Want it to Sound Like a Monster or a Boombox, in 2001. After a four-year hiatus period, the band is preparing for work on their third disc, which is reported to be called Castle Grayskull.
