The Gang of Three

The Gang of Three (スケ番3人組, Sukeban San'nin-gumi?) are a gang of girls named Sugar (しゅがあ Shugā?), Ginger (じんじゃあ Jinjā?), and Pepper (ぺっぱあ Peppā?) from Rumiko Takahashi's manga and anime series Urusei Yatsura.

They are three idiotic and obsessive classmates who go to the same junior high school that Lum attended as a teenager and hope to become the meanest girl gang in the universe. Sugar, Ginger and Pepper's main goal in life is to become greater than Lum, Oyuki and Benten who were the most feared gang in school, but in reality they were not actually a gang just friends who got in trouble a lot and had to transfer out of the school. This spread into a rumor which made others believe they were a gang. Now thanks to the rumor mill, they've become revered as the most cutthroat gang of girls to ever emerge from their school, even though it was all just a misunderstanding. Sugar, Ginger and Pepper continue to believe it as fact and have formed a petty rivalry against them that will not end until they have proven that they're the best.
But most of the time, they resort to simple pranks and underhanded schemes. Each of the girls have a special ability that they can use at will. They also hold the rare distinction of not being pursued by the lustful Ataru.
But at least they've got tenacity.

Wears her hair in distinctive buns on the sides of her head and has the ability to blend in with her surroundings to the point of invisibility. Sugar is the leader of the gang; therefore she devise all plans to defeat Lum, Benten, and Oyuki. She was voiced by TARAKO.

Recognized by her small catlike ears. Ginger is able to slow down her bodily functions to the point that an untrained observer will believe that she is dead. She was voiced by Chika Sakamoto.

Pepper can be recognized by her long hair, held in place by a headband. Able to shed her skin at will. She remains fully clothed when she does this; how she manages that feat is unknown. She was voiced by Rumiko Ukai.

- There are no actual puns in their names since they are named after spices, but however it is interesting to note that in the Maison Ikkoku movie the names of McEnroe and Salad-chan's puppies were taken from these three girls.
