The Frosties Kid is the star of a television advert campaign for Kellogg's Frosties cereal, first broadcast in the UK and Ireland. It was first shown in United Kingdom Cinemas and later moved to television. Frosties is a Kelloggs brand marketed as Frosted Flakes in North America.

The advert was produced by the UK office of Chicago-based company, Leo Burnett and featured a song which repeated the catchphrase "They're gonna taste GREAT". [1]

Rumour and intrigue has surrounded both The Frosties Kid and the advert itself, most of which are urban legend. Numerous urban legends state that the Frosties Kid is dead. Humorous (and clearly fake) editing of the advertisement by Jonti Picking exemplifies this, by showing the Frosties Kid murdered by various means [1].

On September 5, 2006 the UK based Sun newspaper tracked down the Frosties kid to a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. For his own protection the youth would only reveal his name as Sven. He asked: "Can't these fools distinguish between me and a character in an advert?".

Following reports from UK based newspapers, South Africa's Sunday Times interviewed Sven Ruygrok and his mother, who were amused but concerned about internet interest in the advert. Sven's mother reported that it was not her son singing, and that the advert funded a successful gymnastic event in Berlin. Sven Ruygrok attends Beaulieu College and is a candidate for South Africa's gymnastic team in the 2008 Olympic Games.
