The Fringe was a late-1990's North London eclectic indie rock band, mixing their traditional instruments with electronic elements and effects with songs sometimes having almost Prog Rock aspects, they stuck out from other bands of the time with songs often hard to pigeon hole into a specific genre. They would often play in Camden Town, Kings Cross, London and surrounding areas. Released a double A side limited 7" single through the Blue Dog Singles Club, (release number 12) - "Lady James Day" and "She Goes Down". Label mates to The Crocketts they were championed as being the ones to watch in music magazine The Fly, often selling out the Barfly with music industry A&R personnel often in the front row, they made demos for EMI, supported Alabama 3 at Ocuparty 2 and shared a single launch with The Cooper Temple Clause, they then disappeared leaving us with Feeder, Snow Patrol, Ash and The Cooper Temple Clause as a small reminder of the late 90's Camden Town music scene.

- 50% Rock N' Roll, 30% Pyschadelic Rock, 20% Prog Rock. They had elements of the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Hawkwind, The Stone Roses, The Velvet Underground and The Doors.
- Were heralded as the next big thing in the late nineties Camden scene, as quickly as they came to prominence they disappeared leaving us with Feeder, Snow Patrol and The Cooper Temple Clause as the only other bands from their Camden Town era to remain.
- Original copies of their single in the US now change hands for up to $50
- Various members are said to be alumni of Christ's Hospital school for underprivilaged children.
