The Fists of Time was As Friends Rust's first release. It compiles tracks that were recorded with the first line-up (which disbanded in 1997), tracks 2 to 5, and track 1 with the new line-up.
An addition of two songs were recorded during the session for the album, but only one was ever released, on the Split with Discount. The album was re-released on Doghouse Records in 2000 compiling it with the split and adding a Circle Jerks cover.
