[edit] Background
The Faceless emerged out of the Southwestern American death metal scene just as popular California and Arizona deathcore acts such as Suicide Silence, All Shall Perish, and Job for a Cowboy began to increase in popularity nationwide. While sharing many aspects of their music with their regional contemporaries, noticeable influence by traditional technical death metal bands such as Necrophagist and Cryptopsy have allowed the band to create music while being categorized both as technical death metal and deathcore.
