[edit] Facts
After the very heavy "Dragontown" album Alice decided to return to his roots, his place of birth, Detroit, where he accidentally joined in with a festival together with MC5 & Iggy and the Stooges. He'd never heard of before since he moved to Phoenix at a young age. But it all fit together like the fingers on a glove. And Alice got inspired for his next album. Even on the track "Detroit City" you'll immediately find lyrics of this event.
"Me and Iggy were gigging with Ziggy, we kicked it with the MC5, Ted and Seger were burning with fever to let the silver bullets fly"
Alice had a solid recording plan, 6 hours of practice, then 20 hours recording each song.
That's 13 songs x 20 records per song = 260 x 3.30 minutes average per song.
In other words, a whole lotta time, soul and effort was put into this album.
