The Eye of Texas

The Eye of Texas is a television news music package composed by Dallas-based music production studio Loomis Productions. The name originates from the former nickname of Dallas television station KTVT, which since 1995 has been affiliated with CBS (before 1995, KTVT was an independent station and a superstation). The package is no longer used on any of Texas's CBS stations (KTVT and KEYE dropped it in 2004).
The Eye of Texas was originally composed in 1999 for KTVT in Dallas-Fort Worth. In 2000, KEYE, the CBS affiliate in Austin began using the package (both KEYE and KTVT stopped using the package in 2004, when both stations rebranded their identities and also began using Stephen Arnold's U-phonix).
Although, it didn't use it officially since it simulcasted KTVT's newscasts until a news division was assembled, KYTX, in Tyler also used The Eye of Texas for a brief period in 2004.
The package contained up to 75 cuts of opens, closes, promo bumpers, stingers and promo beds in an orchestral format similar in form to the theme to Dallas. A station image theme was also part of 'The Eye of Texas package.
