The Evian Child (Passions)

The Evian Child refers to the fan-coined name of the unknown son of Eve Johnson and Julian Crane on the NBC soap opera Passions. The identity of their son has been an ongoing plot throughout the show's history.
The Evian child was conceived while Eve was a jazz singer in Boston. Originally it was believed that the Evian child was stillborn. As the show went on, hints were dropped that the Evian child was alive and none other than Chad Harris, the boyfriend of Eve's daughter Whitney Russell.
A DNA test was done on Chad and Eve which came back negative in the early years of the show. Several years later, Eve's sister Liz Sanbourne came to town and eventually exposed Eve's past in Boston and the fact that she had a son with Julian. Shortly thereafter, Julian's father Alistair Crane admitted that he had faked the death of Eve's son. He revealed that his grandson was none other than Chad Harris. This destroyed the relationship between Whitney and Chad. Whitney was devastated to find out that she had been sleeping with her half-brother. Soon after, she realized she was pregnant, and chose to pass the child off as her son with Fox Crane (another of Julian's sons and thus at that time Chad's half-brother). Eventually she gave birth to a son, Miles Harris, and gave him up for adoption. Chad adopted the child, not knowing that Miles was actually his son, not his nephew. Eventually the truth came out, and Whitney joined a convent to become a nun.
Sometime later, Whitney became the victim of Alistair who had a plan to use her to get him a chalice that would help him rule the world. Near the end of the storyline, it was revealed by Alistair's lackey J.T. Cornell that Chad was not the son of Julian & Eve. Instead, he was the son of Eve's half-sister Liz and Julian's father Alistair conceived when Liz had been raped by Alistair when she was 14 (she had gone to visit Boston to see her sister). JT also revealed that Liz herself was adopted by Eve's mother and step-father, and thus Whitney and Chad were not blood relatives through Eve, and Miles was not a product of incest. Alistair died soon thereafter.
This revelation of Chad's lineage meant that Julian and Eve still do not know what happened to their son, if he is even alive and if he is alive who he is. Supposedly, on March 2, 2007, Eve received a phone call from their long lost son. Soon after, Julian and Eve hired Valerie to search for their missing son. Eve agreed to put aside her negative feelings towards Valerie so that they can have her help in finding their son. On March 16, 2007, Valerie informed Eve and Julian that their son was most likely abused as a child, and that he is always on the move; she was unable to discover his current location. On March 26, 2007, Valerie told Eve and Julian at Rae's funeral that their son is in Harmony. Whether Valerie is telling the truth or not is unknown.
