The European Researcher's Mobility Portal

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

European Researcher's Mobility Portal is a one-stop shop for researchers seeking to advance their careers and personal development by moving to other countries. In addition to the information on training and jobs it provides, this electronic gateway is the entry point to a wealth of practical information on living, working and relaxing in the 32 European countries involved, through the widening network of (currently 31) national mobility portals complementing it.

Three main types of information are available:

  • Fellowships and grants
  • Research job vacancies
  • Practical information

Searches can be performed according to country, organisation, and research field.

Marie Curie funding and job opportunities are announced on the Portal too.

The Portal allows researchers to post their CVs free of charge.

It is also a recruitment tool for academic institutions, private research organisations and public research bodies, both within and outside Europe. On it they can view the CVs of researchers and publish their vacancies. The service is free of charge.

An increasing number of non-EU countries are associated with the portal, with Australia the latest to launch its own national mobility portal. More portals for non-European partner countries are in the pipeline.

The Portal also provides links to ERA-MORE, the European Network of Mobility Centres, which assist researchers on a one-to-one basis before, during and after a training period abroad.

The electronic newsletter "Europe4Researchers" is also available on the Portal and keeps researchers, research institutions, universities and industry informed of the latest developments.
