The Escorts (Liverpool band)

The Escorts are a band from Liverpool of the Merseybeat-era.
They consisted of:
- Terry Sylvester - guitar/lead vocals (born Terence Sylvester, 8 January 1946, in Liverpool).
- John Kincade - lead guitar/vocals (born in 1946).
- Mike Gregory - bass guitar (born Michael Gregory, 7 November 1946, at Liverpool Maternity Hospital, Liverpool).
- Pete Clarke (drums) (born Peter Clarke, in 1946) replaced by Paul Comerford
- Bruce McCaskill rhythm guitar (born 15 January 1940).
- Paddy Chambers (born Patrick John Chambers, 3 April 1944, in Liverpool) (ex-Faron's Flamingos, The Big Three, Paddy, Klaus and Gibson) played on the last single.
In 1963, The Escorts were voted the ninth most popular group in Liverpool by readers of "Mersey Beat" magazine. Paul McCartney produced them in 1966.
Sylvester would leave to join The Swinging Blue Jeans before replacing Graham Nash in The Hollies.
