The Emperor's New Pet is aired in a double-bill with Unfit to Print.

In an attempt to teach them responsibility, Mr. Moleguaco gives each of the students a kitten to look after. He is suspicious when Kuzco makes no attempt to avoid the work. Kuzco does the bare minimum, leaving his cat in a compartment with some food and toys, naming it Homework. Yzma plots to interfere with the kitten, making Kuzco fail.
Malina scolds Kuzco for his irresponsibility, especially after Kronk sets a good example. Kuzco gives in to her, and goes to retrieve Homework. However, Yzma beats him to it, feeding the kitten a poisoned mouse toy, turning it into a jaguar. Homework overhears Kuzco complaining about him, and runs away in despondency. Kuzco feels especially pressurised to find Homework after Malina invites the two of them over for a kitty playdate with herself and her kitty, Fluffy.
Kuzco goes looking for Homework in the jungle, only to anger every other jaguar he encounters. In trying to escape, he encounters Homework, who is pleased to see him, and scares off the other jaguars. The newfound bond between the two impresses everyone, including Mr. Moleguaco, who passes the Emperor-to-be.

- This episode features a number of references to the first movie: Kronk comments that his kitten reminds him of Yzma being turned into a similar creature; after Homework runs away he is shown looking depressed in a similar way to the start of both the first movie and Rabbit Face, and Kuzco angers a pack of jaguars.
- Kuzco imagines himself as a mother, wearing clothes similar to that of Snow White
- Kuzco gets turned into: Nothing, but the kitten Homework gets turned into a jaguar.
- "Pull the lever" gag: None, Yzma begins a scene already in the lab, and has no contact with Kronk during the episode.
