The Elliott Wave Theorist (EWT) is a monthly newsletter with occasional interim updates written by Robert Prechter.

The EWT is published from Gainesville, Georgia and contains Prechter's opinions on equity and debt markets interest rates, precious metals, and social mood (see Socionomics) trends, among other topics.

Prechter is widely considered to be an Elliott wave theory expert. He called the bull market beginning in August, 1982, predicting that the Dow Jones Industrial Average would approach 3700 in the next few years. This was considered an absurd prediction at the time as the Dow was trading under 800. These two predictions cemented Prechter's legend even though his market opinions have been of questionable quality since 1987.
