IMDb profile |
The Dying Gaul is a 2005 drama film, directed by Craig Lucas, based on his 1998 play.
Actor Peter Saarsgard plays novice screenwriter Robert Sandrich, who has written a movie script based on his real-life boyfriend, who has recently been lost to cerebral tuberculosis. Movie producer Jeffrey (played by Campbell Scott) and his wife Elaine (played by Patricia Clarkson) both love the work, and Jeffrey is willing to green-light the picture - if Robert makes the script a story about "straight people". Jeffrey's hidden attraction toward Robert leads all parties down a dangerous path.
