The Duel Off (1) (Japanese: 融合封じ! 十代VS三沢(前編), Fusion Seal! Judai vs. Misawa (Part 1)) is the 21st episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX). It was first broadcast in Japan on February 23, 2005.

The annual School Duel against North Academy, Duel Academy's rival school is coming up, and a freshman student must rise to duel. Dr. Crowler wants Bastion, but Zane suggests Jaden. The two duel to settle the matter, and Bastion claims to have found a foolproof strategum to defeat Jaden. Meanwhile, a reporter sneaks into Duel Academy to research the missing students, knowing full well that the scandal could ruin the school.
