[edit] Plot introduction
The story follows the adventures of an eight-year-old boy named Horty, who runs away from his abusive family and takes refuge in the circus, bringing only his smashed doll with him. The owner of the carnival, Pierre Monetre, has discovered an intelligent extraterrestrial life form. These extraterrestrials take the form of jewels which Monetre believes are a source of great power. This power, however, is potentially destructive. One of the carnival performers, who takes care of Horty and knows about Monetre's plans, knows that Horty is the key to executing these plans or to stopping Monetre.
