The Doppelganger Gang is the 4th episode of the second season of American Dragon: Jake Long.

The episode opens with a montage of Jake being late for many things. When Jake is late for Dragon Training, his grandfather gives him a personal magical assistant. Jake goes to bed only to have his PMA start ringing and a lady named Pix McGee comes out of it and tells him that he has to go to an emergency Dragon Training Session. Jake trudges to the area where his grandfather and Fu are waiting. Gramps shows him that he has a power to create doubles of himself: a doppelganger. Jake tries to make one, but his double turns out only half way correct. After this failure, Gramps allows Jake to go home and get some rest, but the second Jake collapses on his bed, Pix says he's late for school.
Jake bursts into Rotwood's class and Rotwood smugly tells him he didn't know it was pajama day. Jake looks down to see that he is still wearing his pajamas. During double Dutch practice Jake falls asleep, while baby sitting Haley, Jake is too sleepy to pay attention to her. Jake's father then comes in and tells him that he signed him up for the Couger Scouts. At the shop, Jake begs Fu to help him and Fu gives him some Chi concentrator and Jake makes a perfect doppelganger. Jake decides that his double can do his schoolwork while he gets the rest he needs, but Jake's father enters the room. Jake jumps into the garbage can to hide and his doppelganger is left with his father, who drags it to Couger Scout Training. Jake then decides that that doppelganger can be in charge of Couger Scouts and he creates others to do his other responsibilities.
The next day at school, Jake witnesses the doppelganger that he created to study and Rotwood dancing in the classroom. He then sees his double Dutch doppelganger practicing. Jake asks if he can take over, but his doppelganger is defiant and they tug at the rope. One of them lets go and the jumprope flies into the air and binds Brad's ankles together tripping him. Brad gets up furious. Jake hides in the crowd while Brad eyes his doppelganger. Brad attempts to beat the doppelganger up, but he decides not to when he sees Sun walks by instead he challenges "Jake" to a fight.
Jake paces in his room and he asks one of his doppelgangers to fight Brad. Study Jake raises his hand and Jake thinks he is volunteering, but instead he suggests that Jake create another doppelganger. Jake goes to the shop, but Trixie and Spud show up. They freak out, but Jake calms them down as he gets the Chi Concentartor and he creates another doppelganger, but this one is different...
The next day, Jake watches as the new doppelganger is supposed to get beaten by Brad, but instead, the doppelganger fights back and Brad flees. As the new doppelganger comes back to Jake, he scorns it for disobeying him, but the doppelganger starts to fight him. Jake goes back to the shop where Fu tells him that he used a negative chi concentartor which made him create a doppelganger that is pure evil and that the only way Jake can fight him is to reabsorb all the other doppelgangers. Jake hurries back to the house, but the Couger Scout Jake says he has too much work to do. At that moment, Jake's father comes down the stairs and walks right into a trap that Jake's doppelganger made. He laughs and comments on what he thinks is his sons work. Suddenly, Evil Jake appears and sucks Couger Scout Jake into his body. Evil Jake then goes to the kitchen and absorbs the doppelganger that is doing Jake's chores, and he disappears before Jake can do anything about it.
Jake runs to the school where he finds that Evil Jake has absorbed his study doppelganger. Jake races to Trixie and Jumprope Jake, but Trixie refuses to let him have that doppelganger. Suddenly, Evil Jake flies by and absorbs that doppelganger. Jake races back to the shop and tells Fu that Evil Jake got to the other doppelgangers before he could. Suddenly, Evil Jake enters the shop in an attempt to absorb the real Jake!
Fu and Jake race out of the shop and try to hide, but Jake flies away ready to fight. Jake finds Evil Jake harassing a Unicorn. Jake gets Evil Jake away from the creature and he flies to a carosel. Evil Jake tackles Jake and starts to absorb him. Jake focuses and quickly creates a new doppelganger, which distracts Evil Jake long enough for Jake to ram him into the carosel freeing Jake's doppelgangers. Evil Jake flees but Jake easily catches up to him and absorbs him defeating him forever. Jake goes back to the carosel and absorbs all his doppelgangers, telling them that he needs to do what he needs to do. Jake participates in the double Dutch competition, Trixie asks if he's suppoased to be baby-sitting Haley, but beforehand Jake asked Fu to do it for him.
