The Doll People

The Doll People is a book written by Ann M. Martin and Laura Godwin. Its sequel is The Meanest Doll in the World.

The characters in this book are Annabelle, her mama, papa, baby sister betsy(who is from a different doll set, uncle, and auntie sarah,who has been missing for 45 years, the little girl who owns the dollhouse,Kate Palmer, Kate's mom, dad, grandma, and little sister Nora. Anabella finds her aunt's journal, which is filled with spider facts. Annabelle reads that her aunt, who went missing several years ago, had been looking for a special spider that lived in the dark and cold. When her new friend Tiffany Funcraft arrived, Annabelle shows her the journal and they go to look for her aunt. While they are looking they are caught moving by a human. Annabelle is in doll state for half an hour, and when she is released, they go to the attic. When they reached the the attic they looked and then Annabelle spotted a piece of blue fabric stuck under a trunk and thinks it is her Auntie Sarah. They return to Annabelle's house and bring her family with them back to the attic.They pushed the trunk out of the way and pull her skirt out from beneath the trunk,ripping her skirt in the process. Knowing the humans would find it odd for a doll to just appear in the dollhouse,they place her in The Captain's bed and wait for Grandma Katherine to find her and return her to the dollhouse.
