The Devil and Lil'D

The Devil and Lil'd is an episode of the Cartoon Network program Class of 3000. It first aired on December 15th, 2006.

On career day at the school, Sunny is offered a recording contract, but turns it down, Lil'd is offered it after saying he's a friend of Sunny's. Lil'D signs the recording contract with Soul Stack Records, in turn selling his soul to the devil, who takes the form of a large Record Producer, but instead of performing his own music, he finds himself shilling for products. The gang tries to get him out of it, so they see a lawyer who recommends a fiddle contest but Lil'D fails, after and array of contests all which Lil'D lose at, Sunny takes Lil'D's place in the contract. But after singing horribly for hours, Sunny pulls a quote "A-Town Hussle" and gets his soul free by saying he hasn't felt very soulful after signing the contract. The episode is seen ending with Sunny and Lil'd walking away and the huge Soul Stack Records tower sinking into the ground, Big D screaming "No!"

  • The "Ow! My eye!" joke is followed by an overweight saying "Ow! My stomach!" Then later the kid gets hit again and says "Ow! my other eye!" The overweight kid gets hit again and yells "Ow! my other stomach!" claming he has 2 stomachs.
  • When the gang goes to see a lawyer, he suggests that the Devil and Lil'D have a fiddle contest, this is an adaptation of the song The Devil Went Down to Georgia.
  • Lil'D's manager Big D had the same voice as Skulker of Danny Phantom who is played by Kevin Michael Richardson.
  • When Li'l D first saw the Devil he thought he was Santa, which is an anagram for Satan.
  • Through the entire episode, advertisements for Extreme Ham are located, most of which are easily spotted.
  • During the fiddle contest, the devil sprouts multiple arm to play the fiddle, as seen in another show featured on Cartoon Network: Futurama the episode Hell is Other Robots
  • The contest that Lil' D and the devil do are, in this order: fiddle competition, hot dog eating contest, archery, a hot air balloon race, and a drum off. Lil' D loses them all.
  • The possible other contests that the kids suggested were: Fire walking (Kim), sword swallowing (Kam), hot dog eating contest (Philly Phil, because he was hungry again), and drum off (Madison; Technically Sunny).
  • When Sunny is going over the contract, he mentions various things, one of which is Billy and Mandy. This is another Cartoon Network show where two kids befriend death, which may be in homage of how the main antagonist of this episode is the Devil, while a main character of the other show is The Grim Reaper.
  • When Philly Phil says "That's crazy!", his backpack is missing. It reappears in the next scene when Sunny signs the contract.
  • There are refences to three Mtv shows when Lil'D preforms Jackass (Two shirtless guys slaping fish at each other), Total Request Live (The Set), and Sucker Free (The Host).
