The Delinquents in a 1989 Australian film directed by Chris Thomson. It starred Kylie Minogue and Charlie Schlatter as the couple, and was filmed in Brisbane, Maryborough and Bundaberg, Queensland.
It tells the story of an underage couple in a small Australian town during the 1950s, who fall in love, but because of their age, must fight their parents, who try to keep them apart.
The film received poor reviews, but at the time of its release Minogue was at the height of her popularity on the soap opera Neighbours, and her career as a pop singer had also started. In Australia and the United Kingdom, the film was a box office success despite its poor reviews, and its soundtrack album provided Minogue with a number one hit single in Britain, with her cover version of "Tears On My Pillow".
