The Death of Dracula or Drakula halála is a 1923 Hungarian horror lost film. It's directed and written by Károly Lajthay. It was the first screen appearance of the vampire Count Dracula. Contrary to what has been widely assumed to date, recent research carried out in Hungary indicates that this movie was not based on Stoker's novel.
The film is about a who has frightening visions after visiting an insane asylum where one of the inmates claims to be Drakula and she cannot be sure whether they were a nightmare or real.
