The Dana Owens Album is Queen Latifah's most recent album to date. An interesting difference about this album is the style of music contained in it. Queen Latifah's albums are notorious for being Hip Hop/R&B oriented, however, this album presents a refreshing change to her discography. The most noticeable song on The Dana Owens Album is her version of California Dreamin' (originally done by The Mamas & the Papas). Latifah's version is both melodic and instrumentally lush, continuous of the rest of her album.
