The Daily Toreador is the student newspaper for Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. The newspaper was started in 1925 after the founding of Texas Technological College in 1923. It was originally called The Toreador to reflect the Spanish Renaissance architectural influence of its campus buildings. This name was changed in 1965 to The University Daily and then was again changed to its current name The Daily Toreador in 2005.
