Dorothy and Sophia have been bickering a lot, with Dorothy pleading for her mother to give her space. When Dorothy's sister Gloria comes to Miami offering Sophia to live with her, Sophia says yes. At the same time, Blanche is angry when Rose is cast as Lady Macbeth instead of her.

  • Terry Hughes makes his Golden Girls directing debut with this episode. Hughes would direct most episodes of the show before departing in the fifth season to pursue a feature film career.
  • This episode is the first appearance for Dorothy's sister, Gloria. She is played by Doris Belack in this episode, but would later be played by a different actress.
