[edit] History
The Crossroads mall opened in Portage, Michigan, in 1981. Originally anchoring the mall were Hudson's, J.C. Penney, and Sears, with Mervyn's opening in the late 1980s. Hudson's was re-named Marshall Field's in 2001, and subsequently became Macy's in September 2006. Mervyn's closed spring 2006, and Burlington Coat Factory opened its first Kalamazoo store in the space vacated by Mervyn's.
