The Crestwood School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Crestwood School is a secondary school located in Kingswinford, West Midlands, England. It was originally built during the 1930s as Brierley Hill Grammar School but went comprehensive about 30 years later and has since expanded to serve the eastern area of Kingswinford which was mainly developed after the Second World War. It stands on the border of Kingswinford and Brierley Hill townships.

Crestwood is one of the more successful schools in the area, however this is only because of the 10 or so very gifted pupils in each year group. A project is currently underway at the Crestwood school, involving a Primary School, Special needs School and Crestwood itself, and trying to incorporate them into each other as much as possible. The area known as Campus 21 has undergone some small regenerations over the years, including the building of The Brier School and a multi-million pound sports hall. The current head boy is Bernard Mossley and the head girl is Ebony Goodwoman. Crestwood is currently striving to achieve specialist status in Humanities.

There are many opportunities throughout the school for personal improvement and many extra qualifications and courses are available for all types of pupil.
