The Counterattacking Raiga (Japanese: 逆襲の雷牙, - Gyakushū no Raiga) is episode 156 of the anime series Naruto.

Ranmaru decides to heal Raiga even if it might cost him his life and he falls unconsious. Raiga wakes up and comes out. Tenten sees this and Neji notices the thunder from the direction of the village. Raiga then sees Ranmaru sprawled before him and Raiga is afraid and tells him to stop playing dead. Raiga asks Karashi if he did this but Karashi explains that Ranmaru had healed him.

Tenten, realizes Raiga is alive and goes down to stop him. Raiga blocks a barrage of kunais and then Tenten summons a chain to entangle Raiga and Raiga creates a lightning shield to block a second barrage of weapons and sends a bolt of electricity through the chain. Tenten is knocked back as Raiga prepares to stab her but Tenten dodges and then summons a wooden staff. They fight and Tenten repeatedly hits Raiga but he blocks the last attack, but, Tenten uses her mastery of the staff to steal one of the swords and toss it into a wall. Raiga stabs his sword through the staff and sends more electricity thourghout the staff, which knocks Tenten back.

Raiga prepares to kill Karashi but Karashi says that it is all of Team Gai's fault. Raiga commands Karashi to bring them here or something bad will happen to his mother, he says that he will prepare their bodies for Ranmaru's funeral. Tenten wakes up and looks at Ranmaru, who stirs slightly and Tenten attempts to wake him up. Tenten picks him up and tries to climb with him and go back to a deserted cabin. Ranmaru wakes up. Karashi rushes the news to Team Gai minus Tenten, He makes up a false story of how he and Tenten were training and she fell off a cliff when lightning struck. Lee and Naruto buy this but Neji apparently is suspicious but decides to go anyway. Karashi says that he will get a medical kit and catch up later. When they leave Karashi tells his mom that they must leave now, despite his mother resisting.

At the cliff Raiga is at the place where the lightning had knocked Tenten out. Neji says that it is a possibility that his eyes are faltering and that this could be a trap since Karashi could have been threatened. They hurry off. Tenten is nursing Ranmaru and that Ranmaru wakes up and says that he will soon die anyway. Tenten says that she won't allow this because he needs to take responsibility. The lightning continues and Tenten thinks that they may need to get back to a better shelter. Naruto, Neji and Lee see Raiga and prepare to fight him. Raiga uses his lightning swords and Naruto jumps high with a kunai. Neji notices Naruto's Kunai conduct electrycity and tells Lee to jump up and knock the kunai out of Naruto's hand, following this, the kunai leaves Naruto's hand and is struck by real lightning, not chakra. Raiga begins to use real lightning and Neji is worried and uses Byakugan. Neji concludes that if they can distract the lightning, he can use Jyuken on Raiga. Naruto says he can do that, he makes a mass amount of shadow clones and runs toward Raiga, the lighning strikes the clones destroying them instantly. Naruto had distracted Raiga and Neji appears behind Raiga to use Gentle Fist Jyuken but Raiga uses a lightning strike from behind to knowck Neji out cold. A second bolt strikes Naruto. Naruto grimaces from the pain as Raiga calls him an idiot. Lee contradicts this saying that he can't respond to some person after trying their best. Lee takes off his weights and says that he is angry now.

Raiga becomes interested now and wields his two swords to attack. Tenten is still carrying Ranmaru and comes back and Mom beats Karashi with a metal spoon. Tenten says that if he wants to run away, he can and Mom decides to feed Ranmaru the Curry of Life. Karashi decides to run away anyway. Lee is fighting Raiga, who is losing due to Lee's incredible speed. Karashi, meanwhile flashbacks to when he first saw Lee. Mom has finished the curry and Tenten attempts to feed Ranmaru, who refuses. Karashi says that his mom had mixed up different spices and puts in a new spice and makes the real curry of life. Tenten attempts to feed Ranmaru.

Tenten: If Raiga isn't here you can't even eat?

Ranmaru: Why? Why are you trying to save my life?

Tenten: Does one need a reason to save lives? To save your life, Sanshou-bassan and Karashi tried their hardest in making this curry, you know? Watching them work so hard together didn't even move you? If it didn't, then you're an awful excuse for a person. (Ranmaru gasps) People live by supporting one another. If there's a person who needs help, then isn't lending them a hand what people do?

Ranmaru finally decides to eat it and Tenten feeds him, he eats it and finishes the entire plate. Ranmaru cries saying that he wants Raiga to taste this curry as well. Lee was hit by lightning because he had made an error in dodging it and says that he can take a lot more. Lee staggers up to Raiga as the episode ends.
