The Conscious Daughters (TCD) is a female rap duo, consisting of members Special One and CMG, out of Northern California's Bay Area ushering in the gangsta bitch era of female rappers following Boss' lead. In 1993 Special One & CMG were signed to controversial militant rapper Paris's record label Scarface Records after passing him a demo tape at a club.

The single and video release of their 1993 hit Somethin' to Ride (Fonky Expedition) helped TCD gain national recognition. The duo went on to complete a cross-country tour and sell over 300,000 copies of their Ear to the Street debut album. The album released three singles and three music videos. Their sophmore album, Gamers, sold over 200,000 copies with help of the nationally recognized single Gamers.

In 2007, Nas released the track Where Are They Now (West Coast Remix) which features West Coast veterans Breeze, Kam, King Tee, Candyman, Threat, Ice-T, Sir Mix-A-Lot and the Conscious Daughters.

Currently, TCD is working with Paris on their third album The Nutcracker Suite which will be released under Guerilla Funk/EMI label in the late summer of 2007. Scheduled guest appearances include Kurupt, Roscoe, Yukmouth (of the Luniz), Spice 1, Suga T, Mystic, Cougnut and Sacramento producer Rick Rock.
