The Comedy Show ha ha ha

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Comedy Show ha ha ha is a half-hour standup and sketch comedy show in Hindi. New episodes are aired Monday to Thursday at 10.30pm, and a weekend special is also aired, on STAR One, which is a part of the Rupert Murdoch owned STAR TV network. It has been on air since October 2004, without any season breaks. The show is hosted by various characters of the ensemble and also past winners of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, and the ensemble cast for the sketches features various comedians of the Indian television industry. In 2006, the show was renamed to The Comedy Show ha ha ha from The Great Indian Comedy Show, as viewers were being confused between 'The Great Indian Comedy Show' and 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge'.

The show is created by Sailesh Dave (pr. Dah-way), a well-known TV producer whose previous credits include Movers & Shakers, a talk show on Sony Entertainment Television (SET) from 1997-2000.

Some of the skits performed in this show include Janta Ki Hajamat, Ratan Re-Imburse, Cutting with Jaggu. They usually make spoofs of popular movie scenes and tv shows, and do a good job of imitating celebrities. Also, they make jokes on current political and media-heightened events. Their sense of humour is seriously awesome, though not everybody appreciates it.

Some of the cast members include Ranvir Shorey, Sunil Pal, Gaurav Gera, Suresh Menon, Purbi Joshi, Sonia Rakkar, Suchitra Pillai, and Howard Rosenmeyer among many more. Unfortunately, this show cannot be found on IMDb yet.

If you search on YouTube for 'ratan re-imburse' or 'cutting with jaggu' or 'janta ki hajamat' you may find some clips of the show. This show is the best thing that has happened to Indian Television, with some real high class humour thanks to the awesome cast.

Also, for Indians who don't live in India anymore but want to stay in touch with current events, this show is a must-see and helps know what is going on in India.
