The Coalition of the Willing (album)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The Coalition of the Willing" is the 2006 album by drummer Bobby Previte. It features elements of both jazz and classic rock. Featured artists referred to as "The Coalition" include guitarist Charlie Hunter, who although mostly known for his unique eight-string guitar work, uses a regular six-string on the album. Also featured are Steve Bernstein on trumpet, and Jamie Saft on the Hammond Organ. Previte toured Europe and North America in support of this album, and featured saxophonics pioneer Skerik.
The title refers to the US-led coalition George W. Bush called upon prior to Operation Iraqi Freedom. The album doesn't take much position on the occupation of Iraq; instead, the liner notes express a desire for freedom and human rights. The song titles refer to notable elements within George Orwell's famous novel, 1984. Some songs are reworked from Previte's earlier albums.
