[edit] Plot

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

In the episode 'the Clutching Foot' Eustace gets a foot fungus that takes over his entire body, the Clutching Foot. It holds Muriel hostage and forces Courage to commit crimes for it. When Courage fails all the crimes, the Foot plots to knock over Florida, and with the Computer's help Courage discovers that dog spit is the only way to defeat the Foot. He licks it away, curing Eustace, only to find out that the Foot has taken over his tongue.

The Foot did not appear after that until the season 4 episode Ball of Revenge, where Eustace summoned several of Courage's enemies to destroy him. The Clutching Foot was one of the enemies. However, he was neither possessing Eustace nor Courage, so who he was controlling is unknown. It is also unknown how Eustace knew about the Foot, or how he had any means of capturing him. Continuity from his first appearance is referenced, when the Big Toe mentions Courage licking them away. The Clutching Foot was defeated once and for all with all the other villains when he fell through the basement floor after Courage's ultimate scream.
