Frank and Joe go to the Pocono Mountains to investigate the mystery of a legendary witch who stalks Black Hollow seeking vengeance. It has allegedly returned after a hundred years of absence. The boys, along with Chet Morton, embark on the mission after an invitation from a long time friend Captain Maguire. They discover upon their arrival that the captain is missing. They immediately attempt to locate him, to no avail. After some investigation, they discover a mysterious man living in a well camouflaged cabin in the woods named Walter Donner. Walter Donner's family owns Black Hallow.
