The Choice of Hercules (oratorio)

The Choice of Hercules is an oratorio by George Frideric Handel.
It bears the Händel-Werke-Verzeichnis number 69 and consists of one act and three scenes.
The libretto is probably the work of Thomas Morell. The first performance was given on 1 March 1751 at Covent Garden Theatre, London.
It includes the aria Yet can I hear that dulcet lay.
Recent productions include one by Boston Cecilia at Jordan Hall, New England Conservatory, Boston on 5 November 2005.
The recording on the Hyperion Records label received the 2003 International Handel Recording Prize. The cast included:
