[edit] Notes
- Burnside makes his last guest appearance until he is made a regular in Series Four. This episode also sees the brief return of Dave Litten, now of CID, who June Ackland clearly still holds a torch for (although as usual he completely fails to notice this).
- This episode also sees the last use of the original sets that had been used since the start of Series One. There had been several riots due to workers' strikes around the location used for filming, to the point where even actors in police uniforms weren't often welcome. The decision was made to abandon the location and move elsewhere. Interestingly, after the last of the crew had moved out of the warehouse that housed the sets, the Met moved in, using them - in effect - as a temporary base of operations. The place had been designed in such exacting detail, it could actually be used as a working police station!
