The Cavern Today is a Podcast and entertainment organization for fans of Cyan World's online multiplayer game, Myst Online: Uru Live which will appear on Gametap in late 2006. It was launched as the flagship of the Cavern Communications Network by a group of seven Uru explorers in August 2005. The founders met in some Relto, the personal age in Uru Live, on the community-run Until Uru Shard (server), Uru Tapestry. Until Uru was maintained during the two years after Uru Live Prologue's cancellation and subsequent close by fans around the world.

Initially the slogan "Around the World and Across the Shards" was adopted by the founders but since the announcement of the return of Uru Live, it has been modified to now read "Around the World and Across the ages, This is The Cavern Today, an Uru Live fan presentation."

The Cavern Today has maintained an active relationship with Uru Live developers Cyan Worlds as well as new their publishers Gametap since late 2005. Cyantist guests include: Rand Miller (CEO of Cyan Worlds), Ryan Miller, Ryan 'GreyDragon' Warzecha, Tim Larkin, Richard 'RAWA' Watson, Mark 'Chogon' DeForest and Josh Staub. Gametap Guests include Eric Largé, Randomos, and Trent Hershenson. Community guests include Zrax, GreyPiffle, Reverend Vader and Kato.

  • Stevecrox
    • Stevecrox was one of the founding members of Cavern Communicators Network and The Cavern Today, he currently is the co producer of the podcasts with Jnathus, producing the even numbered podcasts. He was born in the Uk and is currently studying a BENG (Hons) Computer Engineering Degree. He is currently on a hiatus.
  • J'nathus
    • J'nathus is a late-comer to the project, starting nearly 6 months after its inception. Since his start, he's contributed to the Shortwave, added his voice to Tech segments, written and recorded introductions and since July 2006 he's been editorially producing actual podcasts.

  • Ken Telinome
    • Ken Telinome came onto the Cavern Today team after the first few podcasts were released. Offering whatever help he could, he became the forum manager for the Cavern Today forums, balancing background maintenance with a demanding school schedule as a Music Education major at Capital University, Columbus OH.
  • Miles
    • Miles' role is two fold, involving designing graphics and promotion material for the show as well as taking care of the design and development of the website and administrating the forum. The forum is hosted on his server. At present he is studying a BSc Computer Science and Psychology at UCT.

    • Alhon hides in the fog as the host of the CCN Shortwave, backup host of the Cavern Today podcast, member of the Cavern Players troupe, and cast member of Journey of the Called. There is no knowledge of what he truly looks like beneath his mask.

    • Bert takes care of small webdesign jobs and tries to give helpful advice. He's 14 years old and studies his 3th year Latin with Mathematics.
  • Dalken Starbyne
    • Dalken Starbyne is a reporter and voice actor for the Cavern Today and the Cavern Players troupe, as well as a cast member of Journey of the Called. Currently he reads the regular news and weather reports. Now 16 years old, he was the youngest member of the team when he joined in early September 2005, at the time he was 15. Though he is not a founding member of The Cavern Today, he likes to consider himself a "senior" member.
