The Cave (pub)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cave is the oldest student-run pub in the United States and is a favorite gathering place for students at Carleton College and is one of a limited number of music venues in Northfield, Minnesota. Founded in 1927, it is housed on the lowest level of the Margaret Evans Dormitory.

At various points in its existence The Cave has faced criticism and censure for sometimes uninhibited behavior on the part of Carleton College students, including temporary closings and the installation of an alcoholic beverage "cage".
