The Catey Awards

First occurring in 1984, the Caterer and Hotelkeeper awards, or Cateys, are a UK award ceremony for the hospitality industry.
Recipients are nominated, selected and awarded by the industry through The Caterer and Hotelkeeper magazine.

In 2006 there were 17 award categories including

  • Pub and Bar Operator of the Year
  • Hotel of the Year - Independent
  • Hotel of the Year - Group
  • Menu of the Year
  • Education and Training Award
  • Best Independent Marketing Campaign
  • Best Group Marketing Campaign
  • Food Service Caterer of the Year
  • Public Sector Caterer of the Year
  • Chef Award
  • Special Award

The Chef Award is one of the most coveted and previous winners include Gordon Ramsay, Heston Blumenthal, Raymond Blanc and Brian Turner
