This Story is about a Man named Jack Potter, The Marshall of Yellow sky, And his wife. He had gone to San Antonio,Texas to marry the women he loved. She was a lone cook and never wasvery fancy.
When they where on the train to go back to Jack's home town they where noticed by almost everyone on
the train because they had obviously never been on such a fancy train. When Jack said they should
have dinner and that it cost one dollar she was astonished that they where able to pay for it. They then arrived at the train station in Yellow Sky.
Meanwhile II
While a drummer was telling all his old tales a man comes bursting in through the salon door and
says "Scratchy Wilson's drunk, and has turned loose with both hands." The whole saloon goes quiet. The drummer starts to ask what is going on but they all tell him to keep quiet. They quietly tell him
about Scratchy and that he is good and calm normally but when he is drunk--"whoo!" He learns that
the only man that ever stops him is Jack Potter who just happens to be out of town. They all wish Jack Potter was back in town(not knowing he already was).
Outside III Outside Scratchy, Carrying two long black revolvers while yelling and screaming, was obviously
enraged and drunk.He was out looking for a fight. He looks at an old dog laying on a porch then yells
at it. As the dog gets up and walks away he fires a shot in front of it and the dog turns and
Gallops away.He then proceeds to go to the Saloon and pounds on the door with the but of his revolver
demanding a drink. He pick up a piece of paper and nailed it to th door with his knife. He then
walks away from the door ,Turns, And shoots at the paper missing by half an inch. Cursing at him self
he walks away. He Then heads to Jack Potters home looking for a fight. He arrive yelling and
screaming at Jacks home(not knowing he was not there). He then proceeds to shoot at the house screaming wildly. He then stops to reload his weapons.
Meanwhile III
Jack and his wife continue towards his house. Jack says "Next corner, dear,". The start to walk
like a couple "walking bowed against a strong wind." They then turn the corner to face Scratchy reloading his Revolver. Which upon seeing them Drops it to the ground a whips out another from his hip pointing it directly at Jacks heart.Scratchy thinks Jack tried to sneak up on him,Not noticing his bride. Scratchy thinks Jack is going to try and pull a gun on him but Jack states that he has no gun. Scratchy take this as an insult thinking that Jack s trying to take him for a child. Jack pleads
that he has no gun for he has just returned with his wife. Scratchy finally realizing his wife
states that "I s'pose it's all off now." Jack says well its up to him because he is the one who started the trouble. Scratchy simply says "Well, I 'low it's off, Jack," and walks away.
