The Book of Dust
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Book of Dust by Philip Pullman will be a companion novel to His Dark Materials, focusing on the stories of the secondary characters of the trilogy, such as how the balloonist aeronaut Lee Scoresby met the armored bear Iorek Byrnison. Philip Pullman has also stated that The Book of Dust will not contain a story with Will and Lyra together. However, the novel is expected to include a continuation of the story about Lyra that was started in Lyra's Oxford. Philip Pullman has also stated Lyra's Oxford contains clues towards the setting of The Book of Dust.
[edit] Publication
The book's release date is uncertain since Philip Pullman has been working on other projects in the meantime, though it was reported that Pullman began to work on its extant form in mid-2005.
