The Body Farm (1994) is a book by author Patricia Cornwell. It is the fifth in the Kay Scarpetta series. it is based out of a house off of lake tomahawk in Black Mountain, North carolina. Almost every place mentioned in the book can be found in Black Mountain, Even the mention of places inside the house, are there there to this day. Kay Scarpetta, is said to be loosely based off Ruth Graham.
