[edit] History
The Black Pine consists of Mitch Cichocki (guitar, lead vocals), Jason Bacher (bass, vocals) Emma Ka Cichocki (drums, vocals), and Andrew Lynch (keyboards). The band formed in 1999 and played their first show in 2001 at a local Los Angeles club Spaceland with seminal indie rockers Lou Barlow and Chokebore. In the Summer of 2002, they released their first E.P. entitled The Sexlife of Flowers. They worked with actor/director Adam Goldberg scoring two of his films including Running with the Bulls, which premiered on the Independent Film Channel in 2003, and I Love Your Work, which starred Christina Ricci, Giovanni Ribisi, Jason Lee, and Franka Potente. The Black Pine also played as the backup band for comedienne Sarah Silverman's one woman show, "Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic", performed at Second City in Los Angeles and The Canon Theater in Beverly Hills, California. They released their second album, With Us, on the independent label, The New Black, founded by local Los Angeles band, The Antarcticans.
