The Big Picture is an album by British musician Elton John. It was released worldwide in September 1997. The album was dedicated to Elton John’s friend, popular fashion designer Gianni Versace, who died a few months before the album's release. This album contains classic instrumental masterpieces by Elton John, and is the last album released by John in the orchestral concept. The following studio album, Songs From The West Coast, released in 2001, was a return to the piano base, classic in the John’s records from the 1970s. In 2006 John revealed in an interview that Taupin considers this his least favorite album the pair have created, while John believes that to be Leather Jackets (album) from 1986.[citation needed]

The album was released in the memory of Gianni Versace.
