The Big Job is the name of the third episode in the fourth season of Disney's Kim Possible.

[edit] Summary

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The episode starts off at an extremely fancy restaurant, where Kim and Ron are going out on a date. However, it's anything but romantic when Ron asks for the kiddie menus. Turns out, the only reason why they can even afford the kiddie menus is because Ron had a couple of coupons for it. Kim gripes that it's time they had their own source of income.

Meanwhile, over in prison, Dr. Drakken is optimistic that someone will eventually break him out. However, his cellmate, Frugal Lucre, is talking up a storm as to how Drakken should break himself out. Across the way, a helicopter manages to blow open Shego's cell, where she gives a wave of triumph before escaping on the copter.

Later, Shego meets her rescuer, Señor Senior Junior. As it turns out, Junior wants to impress his father, Señor Senior Sr., with the ultimate heist as a birthday gift (Senior is currently unaware of Junior's plan, as he's enjoying a game of cards with his friends). Seeing as how he and Shego were a pretty good team in the past (in Two to Tutor), Junior wants her to help him out. Surprisingly, Shego accepts.

At Middleton Mall, Kim is gleeful that she's now working at Club Banana with Monique. Ron, however, is still reliant on his coupon book. Monique and Kim try to get it through his head to get an actual job, and Ron eventually does so (seeing as how he's out of good coupon deals), after Kim gives Ron a kiss on the cheek. Ron's first job is as the costumed mascot for "Pickle on a Pike", much to Kim and Monique's disgust.

As to the villains, Shego and Junior try to find a good item to make off with. They eventually settle on an extremely priceless copy of "The Tome of Treachery", currently on display in the San Francisco Museum. The two villains race their way to the scene, but are stalled by the inability to find a parking space. Kim and Ron soon arrive in their own car, and the two groups begin to fight, with Kim and Shego trading blows while Ron and Junior trying to lay claim to an open parking spot. Eventually, Shego decides it's not worth the fight and orders Junior to escape. Kim and Ron try to follow, only to learn that their car can't exactly follow the villains when they escape by riding jet-skis across the bay (the Tweebs never bothered with installing underwater capabilities).

Back at the mall, Ron shows off his new job at the zoo, his old one lost due to a brine accident. Ron doesn't have much time to complain about it when Wade tips them off to Shego and Junior being spotted in South America, trying to steal an extremely valuable (and very large) idol. The two teams once again do battle, which ends when Junior and Shego's llama steeds bite off the tires of Kim's car.

Later, Shego shows her anger over not being able to pull off one Kim-free heist. Junior, however, hits upon an idea to make easy money. By holding the five richest people in the world hostage, they can make off with a huge ransom. Ironically, the five richest people in the world are all on Senior's Island, including Senior himself. By simply keeping the five card players unaware of the plan, Junior and Shego can make maximum profit with minimum risk.

At the mall, Ron is now working at Club Banana, despite Monique trying to throw him out. Wade, however, brings the attention of Junior's videotaped ransom demands to Kim and Ron. One of the "hostages" is Martin Smarty, founder of Smarty Mart, and Ron's personal hero. With the car under repairs due to llama bites, Kim needs a ride. Ron, motivated to rescue his hero, manages to hook them up by getting them free parasailing lessons, courtesy of his coupon book.

On Senior's Island, Kim and Ron's arrival are met by Shego and Junior, which starts an extremely noisy fight. The noise eventually brings Senior and his friends out to see the commotion, where Senior asks what the fight is all about. Junior tells his father that he was just trying to hold them ransom to make a huge heist, in hopes of impressing him for his birthday. Although at first surprised, Senior is proud of his son for trying so hard. Shego, however, still intends to get some money for herself out of this, and threatens Mr. Smarty with his life. Her extortion attempt is foiled when Ron accidentally knocks her into the floor-based gator pit.

Impressed by how much of a go-getter he is, Mr. Smarty rewards Ron with a job in the Smarty Mart pet department. Later, at the fancy restaurant, Ron and Kim get the adult menus for their date. Despite the high-class surroundings, however, Ron is still wearing his work uniform, saying "the suit never comes off". Ron asks for crayons, and Kim looks at him and smiles.

[edit] Quotes

  • Monique: "If the stuff in that coupon book was worth anything, they wouldn't be giving it away."
Ron: "I won't dignify that with a response!"
    Monique:"Cause you don't have one."
Ron: "Well duh! Why else do you pull that line."
  • Monique: You know Ron, if you had a job, then you'd have..."
    Ron: "Impossible hours."
    Monique: "No."
    Ron: "Mean bosses.
    Monique
    : "No!"
    Ron: "On the job injuries!"
Monique: "No! Money! You'd have mad money!"
Ron: "Oh, yeah. That reminds me KP. Can I borrow five bucks?"

[edit] Trivia

  • First Season 4 appearance of the Seniors.
  • Due to out of sequence airing of the episodes, Drakken, Shego, Frugal Lucre, and Kim's car all make appearances, although their official introduction is in "Car Alarm"
  • First Season 4 appearance of Pop Pop Porter.
  • The "enormous amount of money" that Junior demands over the phone for Martin Smarty's safe return is $1,000,000,000,000,000,000 (one quintillion dollars), though Shego later says that a billion dollars for each of the five people ought to do nicely.
  • In the end scene, Lucre not only suggests the plot Señor Senior Junior came up with, but the ultimate plot of So The Drama, which Drakken himself came up with.
  • Running Gag -- One of the Seniors making a video announcement but they get interrupted by a cohort.
  • References - Shego suggesting to steal some snickerdoodles relates to the last time Jr and Shego were together, where they stole a famous snickerdoodle recipe.
